    Soil Fertility and Nutrient Management - Assistant/Associate Professor

    The Crop and Soil Sciences Department at Michigan State University invites applications for this 12-month tenure track position, 60% extension, 25% research and 15% teaching. 
    The person in this position is expected to develop innovative research and education programs in soil fertility and nutrient management for field crops and field cropping systems in Michigan.  The incumbent will provide leadership in the development, application and utilization of new approaches and technologies for effective management of essential plant nutrients and soil properties, particularly with respect to soil quality, maintaining environmental quality, and whole-farm nutrient management for sustainable crop production systems. Research and extension programs are expected to have national visibility.  The incumbent will have responsibility for teaching a capstone undergraduate course in soil fertility and management and contribute nutrient management information to other courses.  Graduate student training is an essential part of this position.
